The team at Super Machine Studio was tasked with creating original animations for Exquinix Connect 2023 in Las Vegas. Duties included animating dozens of layered alpha animations, designing and rendering 3d particle sims, lower thirds, an intro sequence, thematic, and much more.

Equinix Connect 2023
show Opening
We utilized Unreal Engine to build a cg set template for the live event so we can make changes in the fly, and see how our renders would look on stage. This video shows the show intro with cuts between the pre viz set, and footage from the live event. The CG set was modeled and textured in Cinema 4D then sent to Unreal Engine for pre viz. The intro was created in After Effects alonside Cinema 4d & Trapcode Particular.
Background Styleframes
By utilizing particle and VDB simulations we were able to create art directable electric animations. Layering nebulas along with moving and twinkling stars gives a wondrous backdrop. Using lines streaking across the screen we can create a sense of energy and connectivity.
STreamer Backgrounds
We wanted to make it feel as if you’re traveling down an electric stream. Electricity is a constant stream that connects all of Equinix together. Vectorized particle streams with an ever changing current that ebbs and flows.
Thematic logo animation
Energy Beams that connect in the middle and create a plasma electric effect. Two versions of this. One for the intro “big bang” moment and then another for a loop to use during walk in and walk out.
